INDIAN PRINCESS COSTUME

When most little girls these days think of an Indian princess, they think Pocahontas.

 

Basing an Indian princess Halloween costume off the model of Pocahontas can be a very quick and simple costume to do for an adult or child.  There are plenty of off the shelf costumes for an Indian princess, so your goal might be to make your store bought costume stand out.  Accessories and finding a good wig will usually do the trick quite nicely.

Some costume wigs tend to be good for just one use, I recommend getting one of a bit higher quality just in case you want to use it again.  I tend to keep all my Halloween costumes so that I can throw something together quickly if need be or I can mix and match to come up with some truly crazy, fun costumes for a last minute party or get together.

Depending on how elaborate you want to get, the Indian princess is usually a quick costume to put together.  You'll need a wig, the dress or pants and a top for a more updated look, some jewelry (preferably beaded or turquoise), shoes or boots, and some feathers to make a headpiece.  Now you can take it further and get leather arm bands, maybe a tomahawk or bow and arrows, and even some interesting hair accessories to make pigtails that are beaded or other wise worked with leather.  Many times a leather headband will be the perfect thing to keep your wig in place and add a little something extra.   You can attach beads or feathers to it for an added bit of flare.
