Mario Brothers has been a very popular video game series for the Nintendo gaming console for a long time.  The very first Mario Bros. game came out in 1983 on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System).  It was started by a the game Mario Bros. where you could play up to 2 plumbers at the same time and help each other clean up the sewers in New York.  Super Mario Bros. came out next in 1985, and is the second best selling video game of all time, since release they have sold over 40 million copies.  It is only second to the Wii Sports video game for the Wii.

Super Mario Bros. is a game where Mario is trying to save Princess Peach from his arch nemesis King Bowser.  There are 8 levels with up to 5 sub levels within each main level.  At the end of the 8th world you have to defeat Bowser to save the Princess.

There have been many games since those with both mario, luigi, and the whole gang.  Luigi plays bigger parts in the later games, there are chances to just play Luigi.  Like in Mario Galaxy, if you get all the stars you can save the game and come back and play as Luigi.
