Saw Costume
When we think of the Saw movies, we usually think of the Jigsaw Killer. This movie series has become synonymous with Halloween and has scared the new generation much like Freddy Kruger and Michael Myers did. While this is a good costume, especially if you want to be creepy, you can get creative with your Saw costumes.

The Jigsaw Killer character was responsible for capturing and torturing his victims. They had to find their ways out of traps. They had to make decisions that could compromise their morals, or could injure them. These tests were symbolic of some part of their life he felt they had messed up. If they did not succeed during the allotted time, they were killed. He did this to teach them a lesson in appreciating their lives they had taken for granted for so long. The man behind the mask was a toy maker, hence his appearance.
To pull off this costume, you need the mask. You can purchase these at any Halloween or costume shop. You then need a tuxedo. You can purchase these either at a costume shop or at a second-hand store. You do not need to go out and purchase a new one for this occasion. The red bow tie is a must as are the white gloves. You also need a stringy black wig to slick back. |

The pig mask is what the Jigsaw Killer wore while he was kidnapping his victims. This was to hide his identity. It was originally used in the movie during the Year of the Pig festival for the Chinese New Year. It turns out to be the Jigsaw Killer's tribute to the Year of the Pig, which was the year he began his killings.
The pig mask is supposed to appear as a rotting pig head. To dress in the pig mask for a Halloween costume, you need to first purchase a pig mask. If you find an officially licensed pig mask, it will have the black hair attached to it. Otherwise, you can find a long black wig to wear with it. You also need to have a long black coat with red trim, like the one in this picture to the right. Black boots are ideal to wear with this saw costume.

In this costume, you can be one of the Jigsaw Killer's victims. The picture to the left shows a homemade costume. You can get creative yourself and make yourself into any of the victims from the Saw movies. Just make sure that none of your cardboard traps will actually decapitate anyone. That would be a major party foul. |
