Tinkerbell Halloween Costumes

Tinkerbell is the sassy fairy from Peter Pan. In the 1904 play, she was described as a 'common fairy' and is now the unofficial mascot of Disney. We grew up watching her in the Disney movie Peter Pan. She isn't able to speak English, but she communicates through a jingling noise. Only those close to her can understand it. Peter Pan is her close friend and she follows him everywhere. She even gets jealous at times of other girls. As she flies around, she leaves a trail of pixie dust, and in the movie, the children - and even the dog - use the pixie dust to fly. All they have to do is think happy thoughts!

Next what you need is a wand. It doesn't have to be any specific kind of wand. In fact, in the movie, Tinkerbell's wand is a plain one. Some are sold at costume shops that are meant to go with Tinkerbell Costumes. Some will have a star on the end, streamers, or a big green puff. The choice is up to you on this one and what you feel like carrying around all night.

For the shoes, we recommend wearing heels. This gives you the lady-like appearance that is synonymous with Tinkerbell. You can choose to do a messy bun like this or a smooth pulled back look. Either one will work. You also don't need to do a blonde wig to pull off the Tinkerbell look. She is not known especially for her blonde hair. Like we said before, as long as you have the green dress, you're well on your way to being stopped as a fairy.

Of course, last but not least, you're not proper a fairy unless you have fairy wings. Wings are put on like a backpack, and the shoulder straps are made of stretchy elastic bands. Be prepared for people to be messing with your wings all night and for them to get caught of things. That's just the nature of being a fairy on Halloween. These fairy wings come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Tinkerbell's wings are pointed at the top and the bottoms are rounded. You can choose whatever style wings you want for this look. You can have long fancy curly wings, short round wings or shape wings. As long as people can tell you are a winged creature, they'll know instantly you are wearing a Tinkerbell Halloween costume.
